The 2015 Toyota Avalon has done well for itself. Its smooth drive and roomy interior have given it a luxury car appeal without the luxury car price tag—as a matter of fact, U.S. News & World Report marked the new Toyota Avalon 2015 among the top five in affordable large cars. And with many trim options, and an impressive hybrid model, this car can be molded to fit just about anyone’s liking.

The exterior shape of the Avalon has changed somewhat over the years, but it has always done well at keeping it roomy. Inside, everything is put in perfect reach for immediate accessibility. There are three 12-volt DC power outlets (a necessity these days), one USB, and one AUX jack for portable device connections. Wireless phone charging is something new and optional—and highly recommended. Its audio system uses a 6.1-inch touch screen, which also doubles as the rearview camera when backing up. The 2015 Toyota Avalon’s audio is highly equipped with Toyota’s Entune Multimedia System, something Toyota has been perfecting for some time.
An added bonus to the Toyota Avalon is the optional hybrid version. In the 2015 Toyota Avalon Hybrid, the hefty 265-horsepower, 3.5 liter V-6 engine is replaced with a four-cylinder hybrid. And even though there often comes a stigma with hybrids for being sluggish and slow, don’t worry. The Avalon hybrid has plenty of zip and pick-up to it—and it saves you at the pump with 40 miles per gallon.
Whether or not you have ever driven an Avalon, if you are in the market, this is one car you really need to test drive. With the two engine types, you might just have to buy one of each.

It seems like a rite of passage for owning a car today. Whether the car is brand spanking new, or you’ve owned it for years, when you walk up to your car and see a ding or a small dent from another car door, you want to scream. It’s the kind of damage that’s not worth reporting to an insurance company, but many of us dont want to live with it either.
So how do you get this small, but frustrating eye-soar repaired? Try Paintless Dent Repair.
Paintless dent repair (PDR) is a method of removing minor dents from the body of a car. The process involves getting behind a vehicle’s skin to massage the dented panels back to their original shape. The process allows technicians to remove hail damage, dings, minor dents and creases without compromising the vehicle’s factory paint job. Davey Jefferson of Granite City Collision in Mount Airy says, “Car owners can save a lot of money if their dents are repairable using a Paintless Dent Repair approach.”
“Believe it or not, most of our PDR work happens in the summertime,” says Davey. “And that is because our customers bring their cars in after damage from summer hail storms.” A hail storm can oftentimes total a car, but with Paintless dent repair, and given a lot time, many auto body shops can bring the car back to its original look.
Paintless dent repair if done right can be pretty cost effective. On average, to remove one small dent that is accessible from the inside costs approximately $75.00, in contrast to repainting the entire panel which might costs upwards of $350.
Technicians who provide PDR services work from the inside of the car to remove the dent. Using metal rods and body picks, technicians push the dents out from the underside of the body panel. For cars with multiple layers of paint like those with a pearly finish, it can take a little longer to remove and will cost a bit more to restore the paint to its original pearly finish.
Davey from Granite City Collision warns customers that if the dent isn’t accessible from the inside of the car, then another approach will be needed. And if the dent has already cracked the paint, then PDR is no longer an option.
Mount Airy Toyota recommends Granite City Collision for any auto body need. They are located at 1935 Rockford Street in Mount Airy, NC. Call them today at (336)-786-2119.
Summer is almost here, and with it comes that beautiful Carolina weather: sunny, breezy, and perfect for being outdoors. But whether you decide to go fishing along the Yadkin River or simply walk around Elkin’s scenic downtown area, it is imperative that you have a good mode of transportation–something that not only gets you from here to there, but one that does it in comfort and style. Because around here, there is too much beauty to miss from your driver’s side window to be worrying about gas prices or whether or not your old clunker can sputter you home. Rural living requires something that is as versatile as the South itself, something that can take you to taste some fine Southern cuisine, but can also get a little dirty out on those dusty old country roads–maybe even pull a friend’s car out of a muddy ditch. Luckily, at Mount Airy Toyota, you can find such a vehicle in the 2015 Toyota Tacoma.
The 2015 Tacoma comes ready for you and just about anything you can throw at it. And because the Tacoma is built for action, it is always ready for trips down the smoothly paved road or the rocky trail. At 21 mpg city, and 25 mpg highway, the Tacoma tops them all in terms of saving you money and providing enough power to impress your fiends and family.
Best of all, it comes with TRD Pro’s tuned suspension: highly tuned front springs and high performance shocks that give off road clearance over any surface. It also comes with intuitive locking rear differential, which provides an extra boost to those tough destinations.
Come on out to Mount Airy Toyota today and see what a Tacoma can do for you.
Recently AMCI conducted certified tests to see which vehicles operated at the highest levels while driving in the ice, snow and heavy rain. Many vehicles were chosen for these tests, but only a few were tough enough to make it to the top of the list. So who made it? There were a variety of vehicles that did well, but performing best in acceleration, traction, and handling in these treacherous conditions was the all-wheel-drive Toyota Rav4.
What really impressed the judges at AMCI was the Rav4’s ability to go from 0 to 50 mph quickly on snow, and with minimal slippage. It was also able to stop short on ice while going 30 mph. But that’s not all: the Rav4 continued to pique interest by showing top cornering performance on snow, as well as providing top of the line evasive-action performance in heavy rain circumstances.
These top markings for the Rav4 are due to Toyota’s highly innovative AWD technology, which includes the intricately designed Dynamic Torque Control system. This system, along with the electric power steering mechanisms, helps enhance the driving experience by monitoring and controlling torque transfer between wheels–all four of the wheels–and uses input from a variety of sensors to keep the vehicle moving.
To make this tough, compact sport utility vehicle even more desirable, Toyota now offers an Outdoor Package. The 2015 Rav4 (XLE and other limited models) comes with the option to include roof rack cross bars, mud guards, and all-weather floor mats to help keep you moving in style and confidence. Come check out the new Rav4 today, because no matter the weather or difficult terrain, there is nothing better than the peace of mind that comes with a vehicle that was built to get a little dirty.
The 2015 Toyota Tacoma isn’t overly large (you don’t need to find two parking spaces to keep from dings and scrapes), but it does maintain a presence and allows for extra interior space. The Tacoma is a mid-sized pickup more than able to pull its weight around with a tow capacity of up to 6,500 pounds, and it has the maneuverability to navigate easily through congested traffic. It also comes with a tough V-6 engine, and four-wheel-drive. New this year to the Tacoma is the absence of the base level, regular cab models. Also this year are new body styles and sizes to fit your specific needs, as well as a nicely upgraded interior.
What I like best about the 2015 Tacoma is that instead of the buyer choosing between differing trim levels, he or she is able to pick and choose individual aspects to the truck. Some of these include: bed length, cab style, engine type, and drivetrain. You can even be as picky as deciding on either cloth or leather upholstery, heated front seats, cruise control, remote keyless entry, reverse camera, and alloy wheels. It might take a little more time to research exactly what you want, but this does allow you to be more specific than most other truck brands.
Standard with the new 2015 Tacoma is Toyota’s Entune audio system. This is an advanced audio layout that can be upgraded as you see fit. It includes tons of Web-based apps and a great navigational system.
Come sit inside the new Tacoma and see that all upholstery, compartments, and dashes are soft to the touch and incredibly durable, and the seats are plush and more comfortable than ever. With soft lighting, smooth surfaces, and extra legroom, you might mistake the interior for that of a luxury sedan—a sedan with four-wheel-drive and a tough engine.
The Toyota Rav4 has always been an eye-catcher. It’s been designed well from the start: the exterior is never bulky—instead, it’s curved just right with long lines combined to create ergonomic shapes throughout. And nothing about the Rav4 is overdone. It does many things with many buttons, yet they all seem to fit perfectly in their tiny spaces—leaving excess room to stretch and stow. The Rav4 was cool from the start. And it has only gotten better over the years.
The comfort and quality of Toyota’s new Rav4 is excellent. Though it hasn’t really grown in size (because it hasn’t needed to) and it has advanced in ways of placement. Cup-holders, armrests, the seats themselves, they have all been specially designed to maximize space without taking away from comfort. This is exactly what the Rav4 does best—evolve into a better version of itself by perfecting the little things done well, and fixing those few bits that have failed.
Though Toyota has stopped making the 6-cylinder version, the 4-cylinder actually handles better than any Rav4 engine of the past. And once you step in for a drive, you can’t help but notice the expertly smooth drive. It handles curves and off-the beaten-path terrain with ease and comfort, keeping all the passengers happy, especially the driver.
This year, a promising upgrade for the Rav4 is the electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system. Toyota has offered this before, but never as sophisticated. Now, with the anti-slippage design, the power is split 50/50 at up to 25 mph (while in four-wheel-drive Lock mode). And, this system increases the Rav4’s ability to corner and correct with loose gravel or dirt.
2015 finds the Toyota Yaris more visually appealing due to advanced curvature and sculpting in both the interior and exterior. Designed in France, this compact car has done a good job at progressing right along with its contemporaries.
This year, the Yaris—made in hatchback only—comes with a brand new look, highly derived from European style. It has a redefined front end, containing a distinctive mesh grill and precise line-work around the Toyota emblem, giving it a sleeker and more polished look. The Yaris’s hatchback shape is the perfect combination for ease and comfort: its modest stature allows for effortless parking, yet the tall frame makes it feel more substantial and creates plenty of head and legroom inside. The cabin of the Yaris is furnished with soft-touch surfaces and sporty gauges. The controls are all well placed and easy to use—you don’t have to worry about looking at a dash with a superfluous amount of confusing buttons. And, despite the smaller size of the car, there are more than enough built-in trays, bins, and cup-holders for passengers.
Looking beyond its comfort and style, the best features of the Yaris are its fuel economy and performance. With 30mpg city and 37mpg highway, you are guaranteed to save money at the pump. Due to the light frame and updated suspension system (the 2015 version has softer springs up front, and tight torsion-beam in the rear) it drives significantly well in town and on the highway, steadily keeping its control around curves and maintaining stability on those long stretches. Also, the superior electric power steering system—one of the best systems you will find today—helps you feel completely in control while driving.
For a compact vehicle, the Yaris does a wonderful job at not feeling like a toy car. It has all the essentials for success and more. If you are in the market for a car to save you money and get you places in style, this is the one for you.

Kelly Blue Book recruited families and editors to test out selected vehicles for its annual list of the 15 Best Family Cars. This year, Toyota finds itself among some of the finest family cars to make the prestigious list. Actually, make that three Toyotas.
In order to make the cut, selected vehicles are tested in six essential categories: Comfort and Driving, Safety, Child Seats, Cargo Space, Rear-Seat Entertainment, and Extra Features. These all are tested by professionals, as well as families, ensuring that each of the vehicles recognized pass in theory and real-life scenarios.
Toyotas that made the list:
· 2015 Sienna. According to the report, “It came as no surprise that the 2015 Toyota Sienna made the family final cut.” This is the second time the Sienna has made the list, so it really is no surprise. This year it wowed the judges with its newly redesigned interior—it seats up to eight passengers, provides ample head and legroom, and has excellent cargo space behind its third-row seating. And, the Sienna is still the only minivan to offer all-wheel drive.
· 2015 Camry. The new Camry is already a favorite amongst family car drivers this year. Its redesigned exterior shows curves and aerodynamics that have never been seen with previous models—giving it a sporty edge that most family sedans are too shy to even attempt. And its new features, such as the automaker’s Entune system, USB device connectivity, and the wireless charging feature are just a few reasons it wins this year.
· 2015 Highlander. The Highlander’s size makes it one of the most sought after SUVs on the market. It’s not too big that it gets in the way, and it’s not too small so that it cannot stow, pull, or haul like a sport utility vehicle should. On the road, it conserves gas, maintains an incredibly quite ride, and its many compartments and excess space allow for premium stowage. And one of its best qualities, the Conversation Mirror, allows for the driver to see what’s taking place anywhere in the vehicle—even the very back.
I have to say it’s really no surprise to see Toyota make such a list as this. But it always feels nice for us Toyota drivers to be reassured we are traveling in nothing but the best.
