How do oil markets and tariffs affect car prices?

Why Waiting To Buy Could Cost You: Rising Fuel Prices, Tariffs, and Smarter Car Buying in 2026

At Mount Airy Toyota, our sales team works hard to find discounts, coupons, promotions, and rebates whenever possible. That said, there are outside factors that can affect pricing. When we see an opportunity for our customers to save money, we make it a priority to pass that along. Right now, the oil market is creating one of those rare moments that make this an especially good time to buy. If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a vehicle and wondering whether to wait, the current market is sending a clear signal: waiting could cost you more, both upfront and over time. What does the Oil Market and the Strait of Hormuz have to do with your next vehicle purchase, and why should you care? More than most people realize. When that shipping lane slows down, fuel prices go up quickly. What follows is less obvious but more important. Even if everything reopened today, the effects would not disappear. Higher fuel and transportation costs are already working their way through the system, and that process usually takes three to six months to fully show up in the price of parts, goods, and vehicles. By the time it reaches the showroom, those increases are already built in. That is how this kind of economy works. It moves slowly, but once it starts, it is difficult to reverse. No matter how you feel about the reasons behind it, the outcome is the same. Costs rise, and they tend to stay elevated longer than expected. Here is the part most people miss. There is a window before the broader market reacts, before inventory tightens, before pricing fully adjusts. That window is where the advantage is. Most buyers will not connect the dots until months from now, when prices are already higher and options are more limited. If you are paying attention, this is your chance to move ahead of that curve. Locking in the vehicle you want now, especially one that helps manage fuel costs over time, is not about urgency. It is about seeing what is coming before it becomes obvious to everyone else and making a decision while you still have the upper hand. The Hidden Cost: Tariffs Add to the Pressure Fuel is only part of the story. Economists and automotive suppliers estimate tariffs could add around $3,000 per vehicle on average. That increase does not show up as a single line item. It builds gradually through: Higher material costs More expensive components Increased transportation expenses By the time vehicles arrive on the lot, those costs are already reflected in pricing. Why This Matters in Mount Airy and Surrounding Areas In Mount Airy and across northwest North Carolina and nearby Virginia communities, driving is part of daily life. Whether it is commuting, running errands, or traveling between towns, fuel is a constant expense. When fuel prices rise, it does not just affect what you pay at the pump. It increases the total cost of owning and operating your vehicle month after month. That is why timing your purchase and choosing the right vehicle matters more than most people think. The Smart Move: Buy Before Prices Rise and Drive Something Efficient Buying now gives you an opportunity to: Avoid incoming price increases tied to tariffs and fuel costs Lock in current inventory pricing Take advantage of today’s incentives before they change But timing alone is not enough. What you choose to drive matters just as much. A fuel-efficient vehicle helps protect you from rising costs long after the purchase is made. Best Toyota Options for Fuel Savings Right Now For drivers in the Mount Airy area looking to stay ahead of both pricing and fuel costs, Toyota offers some of the strongest options available: Toyota Camry Hybrid – Comfortable, proven, and delivers excellent real-world MPG Toyota RAV4 Hybrid – One of the most practical and efficient SUVs on the road today Toyota Corolla – Affordable, reliable, and consistently fuel-efficient Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid – A smart crossover choice with strong everyday savings These vehicles are not just good on gas. They help reduce your total cost of ownership over time. Market changes like rising fuel costs and tariffs do not hit all at once, but once they begin, they tend to stay in motion.  Mount Airy drivers may find that rising fuel costs and tariffs could mean higher car prices soon. Buying now and choosing fuel efficiency is a smart move. Waiting may feel like the safer move, but in this environment it can mean: Paying more for the same vehicle later Facing higher fuel costs month after month Having fewer options to choose from If you are in Mount Airy or the surrounding North Carolina and Virginia area, now is the time to take a closer look at what is available while today’s pricing is still in place.

Mount Airy Toyota Employee Favorite Vehicle Picks for 2024-2025

Mount Airy Toyota Employee Favorite Vehicle Picks for 2024-2025

2024 Toyota Tundra 2024 is a huge year for Toyota vehicles, especially the all-new Tundra. The 2024 Toyota Tundra comes fitted with a new suspension, plenty of updated technology, a tougher and sportier design, and more available packages. But one upgrade that all our truck enthusiasts here at Mount Airy Toyota are talking about is the 2024 Tundra’s two new powertrain options–a twin-turbo V6 engine and a hybrid twin-turbo V6 engine. Twin-Turbo V6: can tow up to 12,000 pounds and comes paired with a 10-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission; sequential shift mode; uphill/downhill shift logic; and TOW/HAUL driving modes. Hybrid Twin-Turbo V6: generates 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. of torque; also comes paired with a 10-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission; sequential shift mode; uphill/downhill shift logic; and TOW/HAUL driving modes. Truck drivers shopping for a full-size pickup usually have a specific reason for such a vehicle. These types of trucks are not only for the casual truck driver. They are made to work well under serious conditions and to produce time and again. Full-size trucks can pull and haul just about anything to anywhere–imagine pulling a boat or camper from Charlotte to Mount Airy; would you trust a simple pickup for this? In the world of full-size pickup trucks, there are a select few with histories of continued durability and power. Among these, the 2024 Toyota Tundra has already proven itself as the top contender. This year, the 2024 Toyota Tundra is better than it has ever been. 2024 Toyota Sequoia The 2024 Toyota Sequoia is the latest in Toyota’s lineup to come in a TRD Pro edition. This exclusive trim level comes with tons of upgrades, but one exclusive to the Sequoia TRD Pro package is the new Terra paint color. This terra cotta/orange chocolate color is quite striking and at Mount Airy Toyota, we already have staff naming the new Terra color their favorite. The Toyota TRD Pro edition focuses mostly on off-roading and sport driving features, all of which do plenty to produce a more comfortable and exciting ride. Some upgrades to the 2024 Sequoia TRD Pro are new shocks, exhausts, and a more powerful drivetrain. Other features of the TRD Pro package include: Black over-fenders, LED lighting, and TRD Pro badges 17-inch or 18-inch matte black or alloy wheels with all-terrain tires TRD-tuned suspension and FOX high-performance shocks TRD simulated leather upholstery, TRD Pro all-weather floor liners, and heated front seats Multi-terrain monitor with front, rear, and side camera views, panoramic view monitor, and Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver-assistance features Skid plate, TRD roof rack, power rear liftgate, rear privacy glass, and power tilt/slide moonroof One other aspect of the 2024 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro we like is the “Heritage Grille.” Where you usually see the traditional Toyota logo centered in the upper front grille, with the TRD Pro upgrade, the grille gets a textured surface with the Toyota nameplate running across the top. There’s not only one style of this grille, but it can also come in different shapes and shades, and it is the easiest way to make your new Sequoia look unique. New Toyota Highlander The Toyota Highlander, one of the car company’s most prominent family vehicles, comes with a few changes for 2024, but nothing too drastic (if it ain’t broke…). This year, Toyota has decided to discontinue the entry-level L trim, and it has added a hands-free power liftgate that comes in the mid-level trims. For the 2024 Highlander hybrid model, Toyota has swapped the previous Bronze edition for a new and improved Nightshade Edition. The 2024 Highlander Hybrid Nightshade Edition comes with tons of stylistic changes, the most obvious, a blacked-out grille, mirror caps, wheels, and rear badging. Nightshade is available on the Highlander Hybrid LE and XLE trim levels. It’s certainly one of the sleekest-looking vehicles on Mount Airy Toyota’s lot! This added layer of style to the new Highlander provides captivating elements for both the exterior and interior–the black seats with silver accents on the interior really make the inside pop. Here are a few more new features of the 2024 Highlander Nightshade: Stylish 18-inch black wheels and accents Available on the LE or XLE editions along with a choice of front- or all-wheel-drive Either a hybrid or turbo-charged 4-cylinder Up to 36 combined miles per gallon Hands-free power Liftgate now standard on all XLE (gas, hybrid, nightshade) and XSE (Gas) editions Audio Multimedia System with a 12.3-inch touchscreen comes standard The Highlander's size makes it one of the most sought-after crossover SUVs on the market. One thing Mount Airy Toyota customers like best about the Highlander is that it's not too big that it gets in the way, and it's not too small so that it can’t stow, pull, or haul as a sport utility vehicle should. On the road, it conserves gas, maintains an incredibly quiet ride, and its many compartments and excess space allow for premium stowage. 2024 Toyota 4Runner This year, Toyota has made major upgrades to the 2024 4Runner, most notably in terms of safety. 4Runners have always scored high in the safety department, but the newest iteration of the famed SUV is the most impressive yet. The all-new 4Runner has what Toyota calls, “Safety Sense,” a suite of safety systems designed to not only keep you safe during an accident but also to keep accidents from happening altogether. The 2024 4Runner’s safety ratings soar with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking (in case your foot can’t make it to the brake pedal in time), lane-departure alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and pedestrian pre-collision. There is also lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Our technicians at Mount Airy Toyota were most impressed with the 4Runner’s Pre-Collision System. Though the inner workings of this system are complex, using it couldn’t be easier. To help you avoid an accident, the Pre-Collision System uses advanced road-monitoring technologies to “see” the road ahead of you. Then it alerts you, the driver, in three phases: Phase 1–Alert. Once the system detects something (a vehicle, pedestrian, animal, etc.) in the direct path of the car, an audio and/or visual forward-collision warning will be triggered. This is simply to let you know there is something up ahead. Phase 2–Brake Assist. Once an object has been detected and an alert to the driver has been made, brake assist is applied to help the driver begin to slow the car. Phase 3–Automatic Braking. If the driver does not respond to phases 1-2, the 4Runner will use the Pre-Collision System to deploy automatic braking. The Toyota 4Runner has quickly, in terms of years, created a Wrangler-like cult following, and with such a bevy of features and performance levels, it isn’t difficult to see why. 2024 Toyota Prius Motortrend’s “car of the year,” the 2024 Toyota Prius is the new gold standard in hybrids. The 2024 Prius model is longer, lower, and wider and has updated headlights and taillights, giving it a sleek yet substantial look, one much sportier than ever before. Though the new exterior look might be the most obvious difference of the new Prius, the most notable update is the 2.0-liter hybrid engine. Both the hybrid engine and the electric motors seamlessly work together to provide an incredibly smooth ride. While driving the 2024 Prius, the electric motors will run, but the 2.0-liter hybrid engine will take over when the charge runs low. There’s also a larger, more energized battery that offers 52 miles per gallon and up to a 44-mile range when driving all-electric. This means you can drive from Matthews to Huntersville and back without having to use the hybrid engine at all. Hybrid and electric vehicles are being made at a rate higher than ever, and it’s no surprise, seeing how much money and energy is saved by those who choose to drive a car that you can plug in. At the top of the hybrid car list for 2024 is the all-new Toyota Prius. With its cool new exterior, and with a bit more pep in its step, the Prius is this year’s hottest energy-saving vehicle on the road. 2024 Toyota Sienna One important aspect of the 2024 Toyota Sienna minivan, one setting it apart from all others in its class, is that every Sienna model now comes as hybrid. Since there has been so much success with hybrid vehicles–especially Toyota hybrids–they figured why not? It’s doubtful anyone will disagree with them on this, especially since Toyota has also expanded its hybrid warranty. Now, any Sienna model from 2020 forward will receive a 10-year battery warranty from first use or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. Going from an 8-year warranty or 100,000 miles to this is a bold move, and a sign of confidence in the power, performance, and longevity of Toyota’s hybrid battery. Another aspect of the 2024 Sienna that sets it apart from its predecessors is its new XSE Premium Package, one that provides increased levels of luxury and comfort. Here is what’s included in the all-new XSE trim level: Quality SofTex synthetic leather seats that can handle heavy-duty traffic Second-row captain’s chairs which provide more room to move around and easier access to the back row (the back row seats fold, giving even more room) Premium audio and a 9-inch touchscreen Four-zone climate control so everyone from front to back in the Sienna is happy Illuminated remote entry so you can lock and unlock, even start and stop your car even when you are in the dark Other features include, six USB ports, the Driver Easy Speak feature, and the Rear Seat Reminder feature, so whether you and your family are driving the hills of the Blue Ridge Parkway, or if you find yourself caught in traffic on US 74 in Charlotte, comfort levels should remain the same. The XSE Premium Package, a top-of-the-line hybrid battery, and all-wheel drive (an optional upgrade) turn the 2024 Toyota Sienna minivan into more of a luxury SUV–but without the hefty price tag.

Toyota … What’s Next?

Change is in the air, and Toyota is not resigned to letting the times pass them by. 2022 has been home to some impressive news and advancements regarding the whole Toyota brand. New models and technology continually impress and deliver for customers; with some Toyota designs celebrating countless years of performance. Whichever way you look, there has never been a better time to be a part of the Toyota family. And, if you’ve been looking for a sign to purchase your first, or replace an older Toyota, this article may be just that. If that’s the case, take a look at Mount Airy Toyota. They’ve served the Mount Airy area for years, garnering a track record of excellent customer service and the ability to provide any potential customer with a car that’ll fit their lifestyle. If you’re still hesitant about making the leap to a Toyota, that’s natural. Though wait and read about all that’s next for Toyota and that hesitation is likely to slip away! New Manual Transmission Patent Toyota knows how important it is for some to have the manual option. As they continue to change, improve, and introduce a wide array of vehicle models, they want to make sure that everyone will find something they love. Manual purists will be pleasantly surprised to hear about the patents Toyota has recently filed that signal an increase in investment regarding manual transmissions. Coming To The GR Supra The GR Supra has only been around for a couple of years and it’s already solidified its place in the hearts of many. The model embodies the joy of driving while also having racing and high-performance capability built in from the ground up. Now, the upcoming 2023 GR Supra has two editions that will scratch the itch of driving manual while also keeping you in the familiar Supra. You’ll find this change in transmission on the 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and a limited A91-MT Edition model. So, if you want a car that blends function, form, and beauty, that’s whole design is made for the perfect driving experience, and also want that feeling of a manual drive, that possibility is right around the corner. You can read more about the GR Supra and pricing options here, through Mount Airy Toyota. With some additional information and details on trims, color, and cost, you’re a lot more likely to make a move on the sleek Supra. Innovation in EVS This news is less concrete than an upcoming launch like the GC Supra, though its potential to impact the vehicle industry is unbelievable. Recently, a slew of patents has been filed by Toyota for electric manual transmissions. As it stands, EVs marked a possible end to the option of manual in modern cars. And while the details aren’t all released it stays in line with the Toyota legacy of innovation. The patent shows a “pseudo clutch pedal” and a gear shift built to emulate and capture the feel of a traditional manual vehicle. And for those less enthused about manual options, the vehicles with this planned addition will have a regular EV mode they can make use of as well. So, for the manual purists, know that an EV from Toyota will soon be able to deliver on every aspect. Stay tuned to Mount Airy Toyota for updates and continual news related to this exciting new development. And, if an EV has been on your mind, check out Mount Airy’s EV lineup here. Continual Innovation in Safety Toyota has long been a leader in safety innovation. This year is no different, with most Toyota models coming with a suite of safety features that’ll protect you and your entire family. Safety Sense Improves Safety Sense, Toyota’s patented line of safety features, continues to be a mainstay in all modern models. You can count on these features and more in every modern Toyota — Pre-Collision Systems can detect pedestrians, cars, and other potential hazards, reducing the rate of crashes across the board. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control provides cruise control that adapts to the cars around you, giving you a driving experience that has never been easier. Lane Departure alerts monitor where you’re at on the road, letting you know if you’ve drifted out of lanes or onto the shoulder of the road. Automatic High Beams detect the darkness around you, switching in between high beams and low beams to keep every driver protected and keep your visibility clear. Road Sign Assist reads the signs around you and projects them onto an interior display, helping you navigate in a multitude of weather conditions. Safety Features To Protect Your Children Toyota understands that when it comes to a vehicle’s safety, customers want to make sure that their little ones are protected first and foremost. While the Safety Sense suite has placed Toyota at the top of ratings regarding vehicle safety, they know that you can never do too much to protect little passengers. This was the driving force behind the new tech Toyota recently announced, Cabin Awareness. Cabin awareness is designed to monitor everyone who is sitting in the car, letting you know if someone is still inside the vehicle after turning it off. Alerts are sent to your phone to then warn you that a passenger is still inside, preventing any possibility of an accident. This feature is slated for the future so we can’t announce the exact timeline of its release but we can promise you that it will lead the entire auto industry in additional child safety features and technology. But, before that technology hits the market, you can rest assured that current models of Toyota have your children's safety in mind too. All modern Toyota’s come with LATCH connection, made to secure car seats safely. That feature, alongside the advancements in technology and the Safety Sense suite, make Toyotas something worth considering investing in. 4runner Turns 40 Another exciting development is that 2023 marks the 4Runner’s 40th anniversary, which Toyota is keen on celebrating. The 4Runner stands out as an iconic SUV with off-roading capability and power that is reliable and impressive and has served as a mainstay in thousands of families since 1984. Now, Toyota has found the perfect way to pay tribute, announcing the 2023 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition. Based on the 4Runner’s SR5 trim the anniversary edition will have both luxury and performance to boot. It’s a limited edition, has a unique colorway complimented by small emblems and details, and, if you end up getting your hands on the anniversary edition, you’ll have one of 4040 models – something truly astounding. Pricing has yet to be announced but it’s certain to go on sale later this year. Stay up to date on Mount Airy Toyota’s digital model showroom here to make sure you have a chance at securing your own. 2021 Toyota 4Runner in North Carolina

2021 4Runner vs. 2021 Bronco: Which One’s Really Better?

There’s been a lot of hype around the all-new Ford Bronco since its reveal last summer. Discontinued nearly 25 years ago, the rugged midsize SUV has been reborn for the 2021 model year. It’s a good-looking vehicle, no doubt. It has a removable roof and doors. It comes available with 35-inch tires. It offers excellent off-road capabilities. It’s novel and it’s cool. But is the 2021 Bronco more than the hype? Is it poised to become a fierce competitor in its class? Well, there’s no better way to determine where the Bronco stands than to compare it to the most unshakable force in the midsize SUV segment. We’re talking, of course, of the venerable, ever-reliable Toyota 4Runner. The 4Runner has been a stalwart for both off-road enthusiasts and daily commuters for decades. Superb performance, reliability, and many other factors make it hard to beat as a midsize SUV. So, what happens when the 2021 4Runner and 2021 Bronco go head-to-head? Let’s compare the two so that you can decide for yourself which vehicle deserves the most praise: 2021 TOYOTA 4RUNNER We’ll start with the legend that is the Toyota 4Runner. Here’s some information and highlights that you can expect from the 2021 models: The Gist Until the emergence of the new Bronco, the 4Runner didn’t have much serious competition in terms of midsize SUVs for off-roading purposes. The Jeep Wrangler is a competitor, but as capable off the beaten path as it may be, it doesn’t measure up to the 4Runner in any other category. It’s smaller, not as practical for everyday life, and isn’t anywhere near as reliable. Unlike many other rugged SUVs on the market, the 4Runner rides on an independent front suspension and a solid rear axle. It still runs on a 4.0-liter V6 engine that produces 270 horses and 278 pound-feet of torque, along with a five-speed transmission. Buyers can opt for rear-, front-, or all-wheel-drive. While it has been criticized for having an outdated powertrain, there’s no denying that the 4Runner provides outstanding performance, including a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds, which beats out most of the competition. Some may say that the Toyota 4Runner is a conservative choice as an off-road vehicle. After all, it doesn’t come with some of the flashy extras offered by competitors like the Ford Bronco. But no other SUV has been more tested—and is more trusted—by active people who seek a vehicle that can get the job done either on or off the road. And as always, the 2021 4Runner gives buyers industry-leading reliability. New for 2021 Though it hasn’t undergone a full redesign in more than a decade, Toyota has made some notable upgrades for the 2021 model year. A new exterior color called Lunar Rock is available on the TRD Pro trim; you may have first seen this pale gray-green hue on the 2019 RAV4 Adventure. Other TRD Pro upgrades include retuned shocks and newly-designed black TRD wheels that wear Nitto Terra Grappler tires. LED headlights now come standard on all 4Runner models. Furthermore, Toyota has introduced a new trim to the 2021 4Runner lineup. The Trail Edition, of which there supposedly will only be 4,000 produced, is based on the SR5 trim. It comes with 17-inch dark gray TRD wheels and black badges on the exterior. Black seats with tan stitching and all-weather floor mats are added to the interior. Notable Features The 4Runner isn’t known for being the most digital or tech-savvy vehicle on the market. So, don’t expect a Tesla when you hop into the driver’s seat. That said, it offers plenty of features that enable it to maintain its stellar reputation as a killer off-road machine. The TRD Off-Road, Venture, and TRD Pro models all come standard with Toyota’s Crawl Control and Multi-Terrain Select systems, which are controlled through dials on the overhead console. These models are also equipped with Toyota’s Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) system, additional skid plates, and a locking rear differential. Moreover, the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS)—which is a sway bar system that automatically disconnects and allows for more wheel travel—comes standard on the TRD Off-Road and Venture models. Fox and TRD co-branded internal bypass shock absorbers are added to the TRD Pro. Another feature worth noting is the 4Runner’s ground clearance of 9.6-inches. Combined with its high approach and departure angles, this allows for the SUV to navigate up and over sizeable obstacles with ease. You can also expect responsive steering and brakes to help you stay safe on or off the road. 2021 FORD BRONCO The all-new Ford Bronco definitely has some features to offer buyers. It resembles vintage Bronco models in appearance and comes with some industry-first technologies, among other qualities. Let’s dive a little deeper into what we know about this SUV: The Gist You may have noticed that the 2021 Ford Bronco has been marketed quite heavily since last year. It is, after all, a big deal when a classic vehicle has been discontinued for decades and then reborn. The new Bronco comes in two- and four-door configurations, both of which have a removable roof and doors. Like the 4Runner (and unlike the Wrangler), it uses an independent front suspension. The Bronco has been built with off-roading in mind. Thus, drivers can expect a bevy of off-road features and capabilities to go with attractive retro aesthetics. However, the Bronco also includes a number of novel technologies, such as Ford’s fourth-generation infotainment system (Sync) and tons of accessories. For all intents and purposes, it looks like Ford is positioning “Bronco” to be a subbrand of its larger lineup of vehicles. The manufacturer has announced that it will soon release the “Bronco Sport”—a lighter-duty SUV based on the Ford Escape. New for 2021 Everything about the Bronco is new. It’s built on an updated version of Ford’s midsize truck platform, which will also be used on the next generation of Rangers. The Bronco shares a base powertrain with the Ranger, including a 2.3-liter EcoBoost inline-four rated at 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. Optional is a 2.7-liter EcoBoost six-cylinder engine that’s good for 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque; this engine can be found on the F-150 XLT as well. A 10-speed automatic transmission pairs with both engines, but you can opt for a six-speed manual on the base model. Also available is a low crawler gear, which is designed to assist in certain off-roading situations where more wheel torque is needed. Notable Features There are six different trim levels for the 2021 Bronco. Off-road enthusiasts will best be served by the Black Diamond, Badlands, or Wildtrak trim. Impressive underbody protection, a locking rear differential, and low-range gearing come standard on the Black Diamond. More drive modes and other off-road features are added as you go up to the Badlands and Wildtrak trims. As previously mentioned, all Bronco models have a removable roof and doors. You can conveniently store the doors in the cargo area, though doing so reduces room for other storage considerably. Three different tops are available: a soft top, a basic hardtop, and a high-end hardtop that offers more configurations. There’s a fair share of safety features that come with the 2021 Bronco, and the infotainment system works with most off-road navigation services. This can prove quite useful for drivers who regularly go off the grid. Finally, there’s a “Sasquatch Pack” available that includes 17-inch beadlock-compatible wheels, 35-inch mud tires, locking front and rear- differentials, a specially-tuned Bilstein suspension, oversized fender flares, an electromechanical transfer case, and more. The package comes standard on the Wildtrak trim and above, and it’s optional on all the others. THE BENEFITS Both the 2021 Toyota 4Runner and 2021 Ford Bronco have plenty to offer off-road enthusiasts. Whether you’re navigating tight trails, crawling rock shelves, or experiencing almost any other kind of off-road situation, these vehicles will provide similar performances. The Bronco may have a slight advantage when it comes to the uber-technical scenarios, thanks to its geometry and off-road hardware. Nonetheless, both models are excellent for adventure-seeking, and both can be customized however you would like. By 2022, more than 200 Bronco accessories will be launched by Ford. And since the 4Runner has been around for so long, you won’t have any problem finding a slew of aftermarket accessories to choose from. 4Runner The Toyota 4Runner hasn’t been redesigned in 12 years, and it lacks some of the comfort technologies found in other SUVs. Besides that, there’s really nothing not to like about the 4Runner. As with other Toyota vehicles, the 2021 4Runner sits atop its class for reliability and overall quality. People who buy a 4Runner know what they’re getting: an attractive SUV that you can count on, even if that means it takes a beating for you. And by the way, there are years of data to prove how much a 4Runner will hold its value. The 4Runner also offers less vibration, noise, and harshness in the cabin, much of which can be attributed to the fixed roof and doors. This can go a long way in making the ride more comfortable, whether you’re on your way to work or twisting through the road less taken. Moreover, it can still be difficult to get your hands on a 2021 Bronco, as they are making their way to dealers slowly. On the other hand, you can drive off in a 2021 4Runner from Mount Airy Toyota today! Bronco Perhaps the best part about the 2021 Ford Bronco is that it’s brand new, and it comes with all the shine and intrigue offered by novelty. Naturally, this means that it has many of the most up-to-date features you can have in an SUV, including a powerful and efficient powertrain, the latest software, and advanced off-road and safety technology. Also, there’s no getting around the fact that the Bronco is an exceptionally attractive vehicle. Ford has managed to design a fresh, modern vehicle that incorporates styling from the original Bronco. The result is a rugged midsize SUV that offers just enough retro touches. And let’s not forget the removable roof and doors, which are pretty cool. THE BOTTOM LINE The 2021 Ford Bronco is one of the newest models on the market today, so it inevitably comes with a cool factor attached. But there are other reasons why the Bronco warrants excitement. It’s an attractive SUV with lots of features and configurations to satisfy any off-road enthusiast. That said, it’s hard to deny the prowess of the 2021 Toyota 4Runner. It too provides plenty of off-road features of its own to go with a longstanding reputation for class-leading reliability, quality, and resale value. And the comfortable cabin can make for a more enjoyable driving experience from day to day. All things considered, it seems clear that the 2021 Toyota forerunner is the better buy. If you would like to see it for yourself, don’t hesitate to contact Mount Airy Toyota to schedule a test drive, and remember to check out our wide selection of 4Runners on our website!

It’s Time For an Upgrade: The 4Runner vs. The Rav4

The Toyota 4Runner and Toyota RAV4 have been two of America’s favorite SUVs for years, and with new upgrades and features, the popularity of these sleek sport utilities won’t wane any time soon. You know when it’s time for an upgrade: various portions of your vehicle’s interior are warped and broken—some knobs and sections of armrests are completely missing; there’s that loud clunking sound that you’ve had checked out but nobody can seem to find what it is so now it serves as an embarrassing reminder that you have an old car. The paint is faded, the CD player stopped working years ago, and there’s that strange smell you can’t seem to get rid of. Yeah, it’s time. Or maybe you already have a 4Runner or RAV4, and you love it, but you would also love to ride in something that sports new features and upgrades; maybe even try and different trim level. Regardless of your reasoning, if you are feeling the pull, Mount Airy Toyota has you covered with all the best trim levels of the Toyota RAV4 and 4Runner. The RAV4 The Toyota RAV4 has always been an eye-catcher since it was designed well from the start: it serves as the 4Runner’s little brother with sleek curvature outside that leads to roomy space on the inside. Here are two good reasons to upgrade to a RAV4: There are six different trim levels to choose from, and each is stylish and modern with unique features. Whether you go with the LE, XP Trail, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, or Limited you will surely have plenty of comfort, style, and technological options to choose from. Plus, there are six vibrant color options available—you could buy one in every color! Just because the RAV4 is the smaller sibling doesn’t mean it isn’t spacious. Inside, the RAV4 has two comfortable rows of seating with room for up to five people (comfortably). For stowing in the back, there are nearly forty cubit-feet of space, which allows for plenty of room for groceries, luggage, band equipment, etc. …and here are a few more reasons: 27/35 estimated miles-per-gallon Comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, AppleCarPlay, and Amazon Alexa Integrated backup camera with Projected Path 17-inch steel wheels There are plenty more cool features to the new Toyota RAV4, and we have plenty on the lot and online for you to look through. Now, let’s have a look at a top-of-the-line SUV, the Toyota 4Runner. The 4Runner Right now at Mount Airy Toyota, you can find deals on a 4Runner with incredible off-roading capability, tons of storage space, a tough V-6 engine, and optional third-row seating. This celebrated sport utility vehicle comes with a durable, boxy looking exterior with lights that slightly protrude to the side, and a front honeycombed grille. Inside, every piece of material is made to last, and there is plenty of space for you and the family. The dash is full and flowing, filled with buttons and knobs, but not at all busy—its expertly- designed frame puts everything in perfect position. Two Reasons to Upgrade to the Toyota 4Runner: The all-new 4Runner comes in ten different trim levels: SR5, Trail Special Edition, SR5 Premium, XP Predator, TRD Off-Road, Venture Special Edition, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited, Nighshade Edition, TRD Pro—and they all come with the same color options as the RAV4. Because the 4Runner has had so much success over the years as one of America’s most versatile and stylish SUVs, Toyota has created tons of options for you to choose from, all of them carrying their own special strengths and styles. The new 4Runner also comes with all the best features: LED headlights, taillights, and fog lights WiFi Connect Available part-time 4-wheel drive 17-inch, 6-spoke alloy wheels with mud/snow tires Toyota Safety Sense Compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay It’s hard to decide which is the better vehicle, the RAV4 or the 4Runner, so we like to think in terms of which one fits best for your situation? Need that extra room and punch, go with the bigger sibling. Rather something to zip around town in, maybe do some light off-roading? The RAV4 is your ride. Visit us online or come test drive both vehicles and get a feel for what type of upgrade you want.

Why the Toyota 4Runner is the Old Faithful of SUVs (and What’s New for 2020)

The Toyota 4Runner really needs no introduction. Not only has the rugged midsize SUV solidified its reputation over the last 35+ years, but 2018 and ‘19 marked its best sales years to date. If you’re in the market for a tenacious SUV that seats five to seven and can go anywhere, it’s hard to beat the 4Runner. While the 2020 4Runner is more similar to previous model years than it is different, there are a number of exciting new features that buyers are sure to love. And as much as the COVID-19 pandemic has affected how car dealerships work, Mount Airy Toyota is open and ready to deal; we’ll even deliver your vehicle to you if you order online! To help you decide if the 2020 Toyota 4Runner is the vehicle for you, let’s take a look at those new features and cover some other impressive aspects of the midsize SUV: New Features Perhaps the most significant change that Toyota has made to the 2020 4Runner is that every trim comes standard with Safety Sense P, which is Toyota’s suite of driving assistance features. These features include: Automatic high-beams Adaptive cruise control Lane departure warning Pre-collision alert (with pedestrian detection) Autonomous braking Also new is an 8-inch screen for the redesigned Entune infotainment system, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability and two rear USB ports. Moreover, the SR5 Premium and TRD trims come standard with push-button start and keyless entry. Off-Road Capabilities Besides its killer looks, the 4Runner has perhaps always been known most for its all-terrain capabilities. While the midsize SUV may not be the best option if you’re simply looking for a smooth-riding daily commuter, it can hold its own off the beaten path against a class that includes the Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Durango, and Hyundai Sante Fe Sport. Along with being a great vehicle for recreational four-wheeling, the 4Runner can tow a solid 5,000 pounds, which is bested only by the Durango. Reliability Reliability is another one of the 4Runner’s most luring qualities. After all, it’s made by Toyota, and it doesn’t get any more reliable than that. As far as predicted reliability goes for the 2020 4Runner specifically, it received a good rating (four out of five) from J.D. Power. Toyota also checks all the boxes when it comes to warranties. With the 2020 4Runner, buyers get a limited warranty for three years or 36,000 miles, a powertrain warranty for five years or 60,000 miles, and—most impressively—complimentary scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,0000 miles. Interior Versatility The Toyota 4Runner has always been known for its versatility, and this model year is no different in that regard. Buyers get the same rugged charm throughout the cabin as in recent years, yet comfort is not compromised. The front seats provide ample support and comfort, plenty of headroom, and a clear vision of the road. This comfort extends to the roomy second row, which reclines and provides ample legroom and headroom. All and all, this makes for relaxing long-distance drives for at least five passengers. Cargo space is another perk with the 4Runner’s interior. Behind the second row, 47.2 cubic feet becomes 90 cubic feet if you fold the seats down, and the overall shape of the SUV’s frame lends a wide-open space for cargo. The Different Grades Buyers have seven grades to choose from with the 2020 Toyota 4Runner: SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, TRD Pro, Limited, and Nightshade Special Edition. The base grade (SR5) has seen several upgrades in 2020, including the Safety Sense P suite, infotainment features, and other technologies. If you’re happy with the standard 4Runner but prefer synthetic leather seats and heated front seats, stepping up to the SR5 Premium is worth considering. If off-road adventures are a priority for you, one of the TRD models might be your thing. Each comes stock with four-wheel drive capability, among many other performance upgrades, but you can opt for four-wheel drive on most of the other models as well. As far as the powertrain goes, all seven grades come with a 4.0L V6 engine matched with a five-speed transmission. The Toyota 4Runner has a long-running legacy of being a rugged, comfortable, and reliable SUV. And with all the standard features introduced in this model year, you really can’t go wrong with any model that you choose. Graduate Rebate Program—Our Thanks to You

Graduations from college are right around the corner, and that means gifts! And did someone say cold hard cash? How about a new car? Luckily, Mount Airy Toyota has managed a way to help you hang on to some of your savings this graduation season. Just how do we plan to save you money? Rebates, that’s how. Southeast Toyota Finance has rolled out a College Graduate Rebate program for recent or upcoming graduates. That means money off your next purchase of a Toyota—$500 off, to be precise! Toyota knows the pressures for recent college grads: find a new job, think about budgeting, rent an apartment, even possibly move to a new city. So what better way to celebrate the next stage in a graduate’s life than to put oneself behind the wheel of a new car, and at an affordable price? Americans have always loved their cars because we see them as indicators for successes in life. Life events like a new job, new marriage, new children, usually help us see the need for a new car. Or the way we celebrate a milestone is to buy ourselves a new car, as a way of saying “it’s a whole new me!” Toyota believes in celebrating those moments with you, especially for college grads who are just starting their own journey in life. So, if in the past two years you’ve recently graduated from an accredited four-year college or university—or if you will graduate in the next six months!—there’s a $500 rebate with your name on it. What about if you’re in an accredited two-year college or registered nursing degree program; or you are enrolled in (or a recent graduate of) graduate school? Yep, there is definitely a $500 rebate awaiting you. We want to celebrate all diplomas and degrees, because we believe in the value of an education as much as you do! In addition to that $500 rebate, you may have little to no down payment due at purchase, or there may be no security deposit owed when you sign a lease. And what’s more, monthly payments may be deferred up to three months for retail installment loans, so you can drive off the lot today and think about your first car payment a good 90 days later. And we are committed to getting you into the lowest interest rate financing we can find for you. And to top it all off, we offer ToyotaCare on all our vehicles, which means no cost maintenance in the first two years or 25,000 miles of your car’s life. So come on in to Mount Airy Toyota today, and let’s get started on finding the best Toyota that suits you. And that $500 rebate? Yeah, that’s yours too. Think broadly. Dream big. Invest in a Toyota.

2019 RAV4 Mount Airy Toyota

The 2019 RAV4: Why You Should Buy an SUV Instead of a Sports Car

Look on the road these days and you’ll see a lot of one thing and not a lot of another – SUVs vs. sports cars. Buyers have driven away from small, cramped, and low and toward spacious seating with a view from a higher vantage point. At least for the traditional consumer, having room for the family and all their things, or perhaps the crew of friends and all their dogs, has made SUVs more popular than ever before. Toyota's recent release of the C-HR and its upcoming release of the 2019 RAV4 are strong contenders in a crowded market. Toyota has long earned love and loyalty for its RAV4, 4Runner, Highlander, Landcruiser, and Sequoia models. This year brought the introduction of the crossover C-HR, which was designed to fit a particular niche missing from the traditional Toyota lineup: something to bridge the gap between the SUVs, sedans, and compact cars. Edmunds named the C-HR as one of the Best Small SUVs for 2018. Those who remember the Toyota FJ Cruiser will recognize the signature white roof available on the C-HR with a Radiant Green Mica, Ruby Flare Pearl, or Blue Eclipse Metallic body. Its body styling is edgier than typically seen from Toyota, in part because the C-HR carried over from the maker’s now defunct Scion brand. The C-HR’s comes with push-button start, a 7-inch touch screen, 4.2-inch information display for the driver, auto-dimming rear view mirror, electric parking brake, and folding mirrors. Walk up to your C-HR with smart key technology and once you touch the door handle, the mirrors will unfold and display an illuminated logo on the ground. These lights complement the car’s halogen headlines, LED daytime running lights, and sculpted taillights. However, Toyota shoppers will have noticed a lack in connectivity across the line. There’s no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto currently available, but this tech is expected to be added in 2019. What else is coming from Toyota in 2019? The fifth-generation RAV4. The RAV4 was the bestselling non-pickup in the US in 2017. It was last redesigned in 2013. The new model will feature Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive with rear Driveline Disconnect, meaning that the engine can not only direct available power to the rear wheel, it can pick the wheel that has the most traction. When all-wheel drive no longer is needed, the system disconnects and reverts to front-wheel drive. Partnered with the Toyota New Global Architecture platform, which Toyota started using 2015 with the Prius, the result is a vehicle built to go further and do more. “The implementation of the TNGA platform allows RAV4 to adopt the charisma of a bolder and tougher SUV, but in a package that is lower and wider,” writes Toyota. “The longer wheelbase and wider front and rear tracks provide a stable, confident driving platform. For off-road prowess, the shorter front and rear overhangs will aid in RAV4’s ability to overcome rugged terrain.” To be released in winter 2018 (soon!), the RAV4 will come in three versions: the premium Limited, rugged Adventure grade, or stylish XSE Hybrid that will be available spring 2019. On the Limited edition, standard features include a front-row moonroof and 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory and 2-way lumbar support, plus a newly-designed 7-inch Multi-Information Display (MID) and, for the first time in a Toyota vehicle in North America, a Digital Display Rearview Mirror. Options include ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a panoramic moonroof, and hands-free liftgate. With the expected arrival of the 2019 RAV4, our specials at Mount Airy Toyota on the 2018 RAV4 are better than ever. From the XLE to the LE to the SE, you’ll find saving of up to $3,799 on select models. In fact, there’s savings to be had on every Toyota model now through the end of the year. Plus our pre-owned vehicles also are marked down. Toyotathon is on at Mount Airy Toyota. Come visit us at 508 N.
